This year there are TWO positions available.
These positions include:

We are looking for people who have a background or interest in, among other things:
business, governance, and policy.
The Board of Directors is composed of willing and committed individuals who participate in the decision-making and share responsibilities for the on-going management of this dynamic and very busy company. The Queensville Players Board is a “working” board, with each person taking an active role in the running of this organization. Managing the Queensville Players is a big responsibility, and a lot of work, but it is also an excellent opportunity to determine where the company will be going in the future.
QP is seeking individuals to play key roles in the delivery of the QP mission:
“Queensville Players is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space where everyone, regardless of background or experience, can share in the joy of live theatre. We champion inclusivity, encourage creativity, and foster a spirit of volunteerism that strengthens our community. Through meaningful engagement and collaboration, we strive to produce high quality theatrical experiences that inspire, entertain, and unite. Our mission is to celebrate the transformative power of theatre while ensuring every voice feels valued and every participant supported.”
Responsible to the membership of QP, Board members of Queensville Players are expected to take leadership responsibility that includes: 1) a passion for the role the arts should play in our community; 2) commitment to ensure that QP maintains history of program and service delivery in the region,3) advocate for Queensville Players within your networks and community; and 4) have a range of skills and experience to support the operational demands of a not-for-profit, including project management, change management, financial management, revenue development and community outreach.
Qualifications
To deliver most effectively on the expectations of the strategic plan, board and committee members reflect the diversity that is our community (age, education, language, cultural, art forms, experience), and are committed to providing clarity of purpose, financial oversight, and strategic support for organizational sustainability. QPs’ recent work on a strategic plan and its growth will benefit most from those individuals who are skilled and comfortable with both leadership and management demands, accustomed to the unique values, programs and services delivered by a not-for-profit community organization in the arts, and a capacity to work in a collaborative fashion. Board members should expect to be engaged directly and indirectly in the work of the Company for 5 – 7 hours per month.
● Directors attend monthly Board meetings where decisions are made, submit monthly reports, and keep up to date by reading the reports of other directors.
● Directors take on one or more portfolios according to their interests, skills, and/or desire
to learn.
● Directors serve a term of 2 years, but can return for multiple terms.
If you are interested in taking an active role by being on the Queensville Players Board of Directors, the nomination period is open until 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026.
Am I a good fit for the role?
Great board members are passionate fans of the theatre, who believe they can contribute their energy into sharing their passion more widely.
Above all, we desire the members of our Board to fully reflect the people who live, work, play and study in our neighborhoods and communities. We welcome applications from individuals who self-identify as Black, persons of colour, persons with disabilities, Indigenous Peoples, and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
At this time, we are also seeking applications from people who may have experience or expertise in the following areas, and would consider such experience an asset:
● Marketing and Communications
● Fundraising or Philanthropy
● Building or Engineering
● Strategic Planning
● Accounting
We would consider any of the above an asset. However, we are always looking for committed and active champions of our theatre and encourage those with experience in other areas to apply as well.
